We believe that helping young musicians and giving them support in their musical growth is very important for them and our overall societal well being. We run a private music school especially for young musicians but not exclusively for young musicians. We welcome all ages.
We have been in operation for 9 years and we regularly have public performances at our school, neighboring schools, towns, libraries, outdoor venues, festivals and in other states. We annually have Food Drive Performances where our students perform for our community and all proceeds go to a local food bank - Loaves & Fishes. We've also taken our students to perform as far as Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Maine.
We honor the importance of all people, all cultures, their contributions, and all music as a way to uncover, discover and build connections for everyone. In our school, we honor and perform all forms of music; it is our modern method of uniting people and building bridges. Musicians belong to a universal family. We are all connected. We can study Bach, John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Green Day, Ravi Shankar, Hip Hop and all music.
Our students have always performed many genres and cultures of music. As a way to connect people and bring awareness to audiences, our students have consistently performed many cultural forms including folk, classical, jazz, Latin, country, hip hop, rock, pop, blues, nursery rhymes, African and even Japanese music.
Although we are returning, we were slowed down on our cultural exchanges with communities during covid. We continued with determination and enthusiasm while we were impacted by the covid period. We did all zoom lessons and conducted theory and harmony classes outdoors. We did a project by zoom with Senior Citizens who reside in San Francisco. We conversed with them and wrote songs from their stories. We also had artist workshops with world class artists for our students via zoom.
